European Partnership on Artificial Intelligence, Data and Robotics
A joint initiative by:

ABOUT THE PARTNERSHIP
The AI, Data and Robotics Partnership is one of the European Partnerships in digital, industry and space in Horizon Europe. To deliver the greatest benefit to Europe from AI, Data and Robotics, this Partnership will drive innovation, acceptance and uptake of these technologies.
The Partnership will boost new markets, applications and attract investment, to create technical, economic and societal value for business, citizens and the environment. By 2030, European sovereignty is expected in the development and deployment of trustworthy, safe and robust AI, Data and Robotics, compatible with EU values and regulations.
On May 21, 2021, BDVA, CLAIRE, ELLIS, EurAI and euRobotics founded Adra (AI, Data and Robotics Association, asbl) joining forces and integrating a wide range of stakeholders into the activities of the Partnership so the raised ambition can be realised. Adra is the private side of the Partnership.
The Partnership is described in its proposal application and the Strategic Research, Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA). The European Commision plans to invest 1,3B€ in this partnership, amount to be matched by Industry with a total of 2,6B€ by 2030. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), basis for the cooperation in a Partnership, has been officially signed on June 23, 2021 and since December 2021, Adra is open to receiving membership applications. STRATEGIC RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND DEPLOYMENT AGENDA (SRIDA)
The Strategic Research, Innovation and Deployment Agenda defines the vision, overall goals, main technical and non-technical priorities, investment areas and a research, innovation and deployment roadmap for the European Public Private Partnership
BDVA, the Big Data Value Association and euRobotics, the European Robotics Association, published on September 18th 2019, an updated version of the Strategic Research, Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA) for a European AI, Data and Robotics Partnership. The updated AI PPP SRIDA was presented to the European Commission on September 16th by the Presidents of BDVA and euRobotics, Thomas Hahn and Dr. Bernd Liepert, as part of a meeting that BDVA and euRobotics had with Roberto Viola, Director General in the European Commission, DG CNECT, and Lucilla Sioli, Director Directorate A, DG CNECT. The meeting was a follow up of the June 6th event in Brussels (joining forces to boost AI adoption in Europe).
The first consultation release of the SRIDA document was based on a comprehensive public consultation process with more than six workshops with more than 400 participants from BDVA, euRobotics as well as PPP projects. For the second consultation release a series of bilateral meetings with representatives from the horizontal partnerships and initiatives was also accomplished.
BDVA, CLAIRE, ELLIS, EurAI and euRobotics are pleased to announce that the official release of the Joint Strategic Research Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA) for the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership is now available here.
Building on the second release, the joint SRIDA contains numerous updates and notably three specific “Deep Dive” sections for Artificial Intelligence, Data and Robotics research, as well as an updated list of innovation challenges that Europe needs to tackle soon. It also provides more details on the Investment Areas (IA) and on the possibilities for collaboration with other partnerships, initiatives and communities under Horizon Europe. Furthermore, it indicates new business opportunities.
This SRIDA will guide the activities of the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership from January 2021 onwards and will ensure that this initiative achieves its vision “to boost European competitiveness, societal wellbeing and environmental aspects to lead the world in researching, developing and deploying value-driven trustworthy AI, Data and Robotics based on fundamental European rights, principles and values”.
BDVA, CLAIRE, ELLIS, EurAI and euRobotics would like to thank the many organisations and individuals which have contributed to the discussions for the development of this third revision.
